What we hear most
What people come in for
These are the reasons students, faculty and staff tell us they booked. They are not a list of what we treat.
Stress that sits in the shoulders
A tight jaw, a stiff neck, shoulders that hunch toward a screen all day.
Sleep that is hard to start
Lying awake going over the day, or the next one, and getting up tired.
Sleep that breaks up
Waking in the small hours and not getting back to sleep.
Low mood and low energy
A heavy, flat stretch that has lasted longer than you expected.
Nerves before exams
A racing mind before finals, a thesis defense or a presentation.
Burnout at work
Long shifts, short breaks and a body that has not caught up.
Honest limits
What acupuncture does not do, and who else to see
What it does not do
Acupuncture does not replace your doctor, your prescriber or therapy, and it does not change your medicines. Results vary from person to person.
When to see a doctor first
A sudden change in sleep or mood with no clear reason, chest pain, a fever, or anything that has you worried.
Other places to start
Your school's counseling service or your employee assistance program can be a good place to start, and we are glad to work alongside them.
If you are in crisis
If you are in crisis, call or text 988 (the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline), any time. In an emergency, call 911.
Tell us what is going on
Request a visit and tell us how to reach you. Please keep medical details for the room.
